January 15, 2010: This post contains outdated information (wouldn’t you know?!). We have completed our move and are now located 1/2 mile west of I-83, exit 4 (Shrewsbury, PA). Our address is 73 E Forrest Ave Suite 110, Shrewsbury, PA. We decided to go with the former pediatrician’s office in the Shrewsbury Professional Building and really love the place. Once we finish getting settled in, we’ll post some pictures of our new suite.

It’s probably premature to announce this as everything hasn’t been signed — and just last week we thought we’d squared away some other nice new office space, but it turned out an earlier interested party decided to solidify their interest after all — however, we’ve decided to blow everything else aside and let everyone know that we’re moving. After a couple weeks of visiting office building after office building around the I-84 exit 4 corridor and meeting with way too many realtors & lease managers, we’ve found a place that’s just a couple streets from where we’re located now.
Sozo Firm is moving to a new office building in Stewartstown
Admittedly, it has pros and cons. Another office we were looking at in the Shrewsbury Professional Building was located right off the exit and on the main street but, being an old doctor’s office, it had primarily small rooms. The lease manager was very kind and willing to work with us – removing a wall, removing some sinks from the offices (again, think “doctor’s office”) – but we were still hard pressed to imagine fitting any sizable group in even the largest room (including the doctor’s office waiting lobby) for our SEO Training Classes we hold throughout the year.
So, when our present landlord made an incredible offer on a relatively recently opened office space he owns in Stewartstown, we decided to move forward with it. From a visibility perspective, we won’t be too visible, but, in our line of work we don’t typically just have people “pop in” so visibility isn’t a driving factor. And, it will be a bit challenging giving clients directions (we’ll have to work on that, but it’s as easy as drawing up a simple map). It’s off the exit by about 4 1/2 miles which is a bit of a pain (the doctor’s office was about 1/2 mile off the exit), but something we’ll live with. The space is nice, the building is less than 10 years old (I believe), and we’ve got ample room to grow. I believe it used to be home to a computer consulting company, though I could easily be wrong. I’m assuming sometime this weekend we’ll be signing all the paperwork, and then comes the fun part of moving in!
We’ll post our new address once the transition is complete. In the meantime, thank you for your patience and understanding as things are going to be a bit interesting around Sozo Firm over the next couple of weeks.
11/06/2009 Update: We ended up going with the former doctor’s office in the Shrewsbury Professional Building. We believe it will be the best location (convenient to the Interstate) and provide the best space for us (plus, the building owner team is incredible).
