First Day of Fall - 2008
I love fall. In fact, it’s probably my favorite season. “Probably” only because I love parts of spring with the world around me greening and “probably” because I don’t like the latter part of fall when the trees are bare and the world begins to take on the solemn look of winter.
We just returned to Pennsylvania from a week in upstate New York. Driving down the long, lonely stretch of interstate 88 we caught a glimpse of early fall - leaves on trees were just starting to change from a shade of green to a slight reddish or orange color. Probably another week - after the official start of fall 2008 - we’d have seen a wide array of reds, oranges, greens and yellows. There is nothing like early fall in the northeast. Almost takes your breath away.
The first day of fall is officially the “Autumnal Equinox” when the sun is halfway between the summer equinox (the north pole is pointing toward the sun) and the winter equinox (the south pole is pointing toward the sun). The Autumnal Equinox thus marks the transition between the sun warming the northern hemisphere and the sun warming the southern hemisphere. Officially, the first day of fall begins at 11:44:16 EDT or 15:44:16 UCT.
It’s good to be “back to work” again. I’m a workaholic and I need an occasional break (even though my best breaks are still interspersed with work), but I think I’ll shift from vacation mode back into management mode while still doing what I can to enjoy today, 2008’s first day of fall.
In fact, maybe we’ll even offer a special for new clients who sign up today. Typically, we require a $1500/month minimum spend (with a regular 6 month contract), but for today only, we’ll temporarily bump the minimum entrance fee (does not include fees for Adwords or internet ads) to $1200/month for a standard 6 month contract. If you’re interested, give us a call at 800.460.SOZO or submit our online quote request and mention “First Day of Fall 2008 Special.”
